Academic Scholarships
Board of Trustees, Chancellor, and Vice Chancellors' Scholarships
UA Rich Mountain offers a limited number of performance-based Incoming Freshman Scholarships to graduating high school seniors from the UA Rich Mountain service area based on academic, scholastic, community services, and leadership characteristics. The Board of Trustees Scholarship pays the cost of tuition for fifteen hours for up to four consecutive semesters, excluding summer terms, and a book allowance. The Chancellor's Scholarship pays tuition for up to fifteen hours; the Vice Chancellors' Scholarship pays $500 scholarship per semester and a book allowance. The student shall meet specified criteria listed below.
Application forms for the Board of Trustees, Chancellor's, and Vice Chancellors' Scholarships may be obtained online at the UA Rich Mountain scholarship application website. The completed application must be submitted November 15 priority deadline for high school students graduating in May or June.
Students applying for the Board of Trustees Scholarship must have at least a 3.75 GPA on high school work and ACT composite of 25 or SAT composite 1200 and up: Chancellor's Scholarship applicants must have at least a 3.50 GPA and ACT composite of 24 or SAT composite 1160-1190; and the Vice Chancellors' Scholarships must have at least a 3.0 GPA and ACT composite of 23 or SAT composite 1130-1150.
*Student's must be enrolled in at least 12 semester credit hours to be eligible for a UARM Academic Scholarship
In order to receive the Board of Trustees, Chancellor's, or Vice Chancellors' Scholarships for the succeeding semesters, the student must meet the following criteria:
- Successfully complete a minimum of 12 semester credit hours each semester enrolled at UA Rich Mountain. (When evaluating academic progress, developmental hours are included in enrollment hours and cumulative GPA.)
- Maintain a 3.0 cumulative GPA each semester at UA Rich Mountain.
- Continue to be a full-time student in order to keep the scholarship.
GED Scholarship
The GED Scholarship may be awarded each year to a graduate of UA Rich Mountain Adult Education Center. To qualify, students must score at least 150 on each exam with a composite score of 600 on the GED exam and have been a full-time student in the GED program at UA Rich Mountain. Qualified students will receive an invitation to apply from the Adult Education Center and must complete an essay stating the reason they are requesting the scholarship. The GED scholarship pays a $500 per semester scholarship and book stipend. The scholarship is renewable for up to two consecutive semesters, excluding summer terms, provided the student maintains a 3.0 GPA. The recipient must enroll on a full-time basis in order to be eligible.
UA Rich Mountain will only accept ACT or SAT scores for Academic scholarships.
UA Rich Mountain will not super score for Academic Scholarships.
