BEYOND CAMPUS
Located in the scenic Ouachita Mountains of southwest Arkansas, Mena with its population of just over 5,500 is considered one of the small gems of rural Arkansas.
Outdoor Activities
Mena and its surrounding area offer hiking, outdoor biking, fishing, water sports, ATV trails, hunting and river floating/kayaking. Mena is only minutes away from Lake Ouachita, the Caddo River, and Queen Wilhelmina state park. Some of the major cities close to Mena include Fort Smith, Texarkana and Hot Springs.
Food and Shopping
Mena itself while small offers residents and guests an array of dining options from coffee shops and breweries to steak houses and Tex-Mex cuisine. Not to mention a thriving art and music culture with live music, a farmers’ market, and the Ouachita Little Theatre.
