SkillsUSA is a national membership association serving middle school, high school, and college students who are preparing for careers in trade, technical and skilled service occupations, including health occupations, and for further education. SkillsUSA is a partnership of students, teachers and industry working together to ensure America has a skilled workforce. Skills USA Arkansas provides opportunities for students to showcase their leadership ability and career and technical skill attainment through competitions. Business and industry set standards for competitions that are based on competencies appropriate for entry-level workers and career and technical education. These standards are kept current through broad industry representation on technical committees composed of companies, trade, and professional associations.

Students enrolled at UA Rich Mountain have many opportunities to earn Technical Certificates and Certificates of Proficiency. The welding program helps students use skills that meet industry standards and develop skills necessary for state and national welding certifications. The Certified Nursing Assistant Program provides courses of instruction and experience that will prepare individuals to be a qualified member of a health care team and demonstrate effective, professional communication skills with faculty, clients and health care team members.
