On November 10, students from the University of Rich Mountain Science Club participated in community clean-up efforts. Club members spent a couple of hours in the afternoon serving in the local area.
A total of 26 trash bags full of plastic and glass bottles, cans, and other trash were collected during the service project. The clean-up efforts were in partnership with Keep Arkansas Beautiful Commission, which is a division of the Arkansas Department of Parks, Heritage and Tourism. The commission exists to inspire individuals to improve their communities by educating, preventing litter, promoting recycling, and keeping Arkansas beautiful. Leadership for the UARM Science Club includes President Ian Hughes, Vice-President Kimberleigh Richardson, and Secretary Travis Hughes.
